The Search is on for Genuine Seaglass

The seaglass is
With the beaches cleared of ice, it is time to resume the hunt for authentic seaglass in Prince Edward Island. I have been under the weather lately and am just now feeling good enough to resume my beachcombing adventures.
Genuine seaglass is becoming a rare commodity. When you look at all the man-made glass on the market, it is hard to tell authentic seaglass. Here is one hint. If you see many pieces with just about the same shape, it is a fairly good indication that the glass is man made. Genuine seaglass does not come in strings like those glass beads you find in the craft stores.
Authentic seaglass is frosted and has little nicks and grooves in it. Some say you can see "C" shaped grooves in genuine glass.
In this picture, you can see the pits and grooves
that are typical of authentic sea glass.
I feature only genuine, Island glass in my gift shop in Charlottetown, and in my Etsy shop. You can see above the earring pairs are not identical in shape. Like snowflakes, no two pieces are alike.
You can find this piece of genuine PEI seaglass, (and many more) in my Etsy Shop
I will be beachcombing on the next sunny day and I hope to have a treasure to share with you upon my return.
